Balance Metrix making local connections at Port Macquarie seniors expo

The Balance Metrix team attended the Port Macquarie Community Aged Care Expo on 26 August 2026 to connect with a range of local aged care and ageing service providers.
One person we enjoyed meeting was Elizabeth Ferguson, Community Development Officer with Port Macquarie Hastings Council (pictured second from right).
Elizabeth is employed by the Council to work in partnership with Healthy North Coast to lead community co-design sessions and build local connection opportunities. She is pictured here with our local team (left to right): Balance Mat IT expert & Data Collector Bipin Shrestha, Balance Metrix Pty Ltd Co-Founder & Director Ian Bergman, IT Intern Mandira Chaulagain and Balance Metrix Business Manager & Co-Founder Margaret Metz.
The Healthy Towns program is a community-led health initiative designed to support older locals to live and age well by connecting residents to support networks such as social clubs, physical activities and volunteering roles. In our area, Healthy Towns Wauchope program represents a $977,000 investment in the local community through the North Coast Primary Health Network (PHN) program, which works with local people, organisations and health services to improve health, wellbeing and social connection for older people, creating opportunities for people to connect, participate, stay active and age well.
The Balance Metrix team took the opportunity at the expo to make plans to provide demonstrations of the Balance Mat technology to people like Daniel from Dovida and Scott from the Hastings Men’s Shed.
